I installed a Norwitz tankless water heater. The unit requires a 1/2 gallon per minute flow to turn the burner on. I also installed a shower unit with a single valve mixer. We get great hot water as long as the valve is all the way open to hot, but if we want to mix with cold, the hot flow rate reduces and the burner shuts down.

Should I have installed the type of shower set with to valves so the hot is all the way open while you mix cold? Is there any other way to boost the flow rate beyond the 40-60 psi pressure tank? Can I wire a pump to turn on when the burner fires?

I will appreciate any help I can get...didn't anticipate this issue. Thanks.

I'm sorry that I can't help much but I'm thinking that if you call Norwitz, they may be able to send you a sensor which would activate the burners with less of a flow?

Get a less restrictive shower head or turn the temperature down on the heater
