I spent the day installing a bracket for the TV on the fireplace. I also cut a hole so I can install the surge protecting duplex plug and run all the wires within the fireplace walls. What a bear!

I did the same thing just after I bought my house, it was a pain in the butt.

I drove from my Big Bear house to my Wildomar house just to grab some business cards for a meeting in Perris then drove right back up to the mountains since I have to finish up some work tomorrow and then go to my buddies moms funeral on Saturday.

I've been activated with the Red Cross for Carmagedon on the 405. Silliest thing I've heard in a long time. I have to sit at home with daily conference calls, just waiting until they push the big red button. Then I will be off to parts unknown until Monday AM.

A good buddy of mine is a foreman on the crew taking down the bridge. I guess the most of the closure is because they have to bring in 6 foot of dirt and spread it accross the freeway so the falling concrete doesn't bust it up.

Yeah, seems like alot of cushion and "haul in/haul out." I'm curious if the closure of the 405 freeway has made national headlines, or is it pretty much local?

Just in case our admins and resident experts are unaware, they are shutting down one of LA's major freeway arteries for 56 hours this weekend, so they can remove 1/2 of a concrete overcrossing for a later freeway widening project. The naysayers believe this will cause total paralysis of the entire freeway system in and around Los Angeles. Because of the concerns, all local Emergency Operation Centers will be activated and the Red Cross is standing by with numerous food trucks and shelters set up in the event the motorists can not get to where they are going.

I don't think it will be that big a deal once it gets started. There has been so much coverage that I think most people with half a brain will avoid the area completly.

I agree. It is no worse than shutting down a freeway for a fatal traffic collision with no warning of the closure. Yeah, there are going to be a few dummys who haven't been paying attention and have a long ride, but most others will be avoiding LA like the plague. They say it is similar to Y2K and "the sky is falling."

I havent read it but only heard of it, but from what I here it's because they don't want a bunch of house boats on the lake.

Makes sense. I would hate to think of the lake I spend time on as the Trailer Park of lakes. Not that that's a bad thing necessarily, in fact I think it could be pretty cool.

You guys are seriously lagging on posting around here.

Yeah I had to help Keith yesterday and now I'm about to take my kid to the inlaws.

Freeeeeedom!

Nice, from any where of note?

Yeah JR's house. No it was one from one of the vegas casinos in 1973. My buddies grandfather bought it in the late 70's and has had it ever since but is getting old and it was just sitting in the garage so I gave him a fair offer and now it sits at my house. It was working fine last night but then I hit a winner and it dumped out all the money then the lights went out on it and it stopped working so now it is just for looks.
