Does anyone know how to remove the chrome cylinder piece from this shower handle? I got the lever handle off but I don't see how to remove the piece that the arrow is pointing to. I'm hoping there is a shut off behind so I don't have to shut off the main.

we’re in the middle of remodeling our shower and want to replace the shower handle/plate. We currently have a Moen handle, I believe from the 80’s, and are wondering if we can replace the handle to something more modern without hiring a plumber?

I am trying to remove the shower handle and this model does not have an allen screw that holds it on. I found the center screw behind the front cap and removed it. The handle is still solid and will not come off. Do I have to unscrew the handle? Not sure how to proceed.
