    Dedicated recirculating line

Hear alot about dedicated recirculating line. I have a Navien tankless heater with internal circulating pump. The hot line leaves pump and goes by all fixtures on its way back to heater. How does a dedicated line differ from this. Thanks! Ole Dodge

    Drain slope

Ok. I think I know what y'all's answer will be, but I'm gonna ask anyway. Please tell me that I will be ok with 3/8" fall on a 10' section of 3" line going into septic tank. Also, when installing 3/8" cutoff valve with escutcheon, how do you tighten valve, because the male adapter is hidden...

    Hydro testing pvc

Thanks,Twowaxhack! Interesting name. How did you come up with it? Surely you didn't have to put on (2) wax seals. 😂

That is a good suggestion. They are designed for holding down landscape fabric. I like the neatness of pvc, but seems PEX is pipe increasingly becoming the pipe of choice. that's a good suggestion. They are designed to hold down landscape fabric I believe. I'm partial to PVC because it is...

    What did you do today?

I need help! I'm installing water line to shop. Always used PVC. Love it because the 20' sticks are easy to install. Considering PEX but it will be difficult to unroll and get to lay down in ditch. Minimum of fittings. How much can you curve ditch without damaging PEX? Thank y'all

    What did you do today?

I've never understood that cat craziness. My theory is that a couple good ole boys were sitting around drinking beer and had consumed more than they should. While drinking beer and watching their pet Civet cat lying over there in the floor, one said to the other: "wonder what would happen to...

    What did you do today?

That coffee cat thing is crazy. The only thing that I can think of that could've been the origin is that a couple of ole boys had consumed more beer than they should have and one said to the other while watching their pet civet cat "lets feed that SOB some coffee beans and see what happens!

How to locate slow water leak located in the home

You’re probably right. I’ve thought about the encapsulation but like y’all said, it’s expensive.

How to locate slow water leak located in the home

It may be necessary in FL., to have slab. But, I would always choose crawl space over slab mainly for all the issues described above.

An anal OCD person contemplates house re-pipe decisions around Pex.

This isn’t a recommendation, but, in 1974, I built a home in north MS. I plumbed it with PVC and CPVC. I lived there over 10 years and had two in an uninsulated area freeze when the temperature was in single digits. I built another home in 1992 in middle TN., using the same pipe. Thirty years...

    Navien Combi boiler flush question

Reading this opens door for me to ask advice on condensate drain. I have a high efficiency gas furnace. When it was installed many years ago in unheated attic a float activated pump was put in drain pan. Well the first time temp was below freezing, you know what happened. So, my solution was...

Question about hot water recirculation in a relatively large home

most great cooks love copper vessels for cooking. The top of line cookware is Great Chefs prefer copper and SS. My wife has collection of All-Clad SS. It has a copper core. She would be very upset if someone tried to take it. Don’t cook in aluminum.. cast iron for cornbread. Can’t beat it!

    Navient 240A recirc

Man! This guy is smart. Fun to listen to. Would there been any possibility that using the hair dryer could have salvaged the display and control board? Please, before you jump on me for that question, consider that basically all I know bout plumbing is that it runs downhill. I have a Navien...

    What did you do today?

Yes, I forgot to mention that I got the infusion as well. Took 40 minutes to complete with one hour observation. On another topic, I had 3” and 2” pvc installed beneath footing prior to slab pour. I’m embarrassed to admit that was several years ago and now I’m thinking of installing toilet and...
