Actually there are some good people where you hang out over there. I just don't post much over there anymore but I am still there every day.

Ok, update...

I just "finished" these up this morning... I used quotes because they still need to be sharpened. One is going to my dad, and the other to my father in law...

Each 10" bladed, each ~16" OAL. 5160 blades and guards, the fighter has a cherrywood handle and the bowie has a tiger wood semi-coffin handle.

HUGE HUGE thanks to Jim Adams (of Jim Adams Custom Knives) for helping me with these! I could never have done this without his time, equipment and patience!

Hay Brad, I am really amazed to see the progression from your earlier knives to your latest ones. As a hint, it may just be time to invest in a laser etcher and start adding your name to them, as you might just be building a formidable business!

I think I am going to do a simple etch of my initials on these, but later once I am selling them, I will get vinyl mask cut, so that I can etch over them and leave my name and city/state... I'd love to have this be my business! :)

Place me on your list, I'd like to have one with your name engraved on it. It may not be worth much now, but after your wife kills you for the lack of attention she is getting, I might be able to sell it for a few bucks! :D

This is very true... I think one day she'll come out in the garage and kill me with one of my own knives... :)

Thanks guys... :)

Once I get these sharp and do some cutting and blade tests, I'll know more about how well I did. If both of these blades are good on edge, I would list them for sale at about $400 each... Maybe a little more if I had made sheaths for them.

On the topic of sheaths, I see them as sort of a waste on these... Who in the world is actually going to carry a bowie on their belt?

Didn't Rambo carry one on his belt?

My point exactly. :)

I can see the benefit for having a sheath that you could strap to your pack, but then, you probably wouldn't choose one of these for your hardcore camping/backpacking needs... they are just too heavy to hump around all day as extra weight.

Have you never been to Texas?

The longest blade you can 'legally' carry in Tn is 4". I don't imagine too many other states allow anything larger than that, but maybe I'm wrong...

I think in CA there is only a limit when you enter a Court house or other government building. At least as far as I know.

In California, if the knife is exposed in an outside sheath, there really isn't a limit. Concealed, there will be a problem.
