Why is the pipe wrapped in plastic? Don't want to get dirt on the pretty paint job?

Out here any metal water pipe or fittings must be wrapped. Wouldn't want dirt touching the protective coating.

What a mess. Did the mud enter the already layed pipe, and can you flush it after the job is done?


Also, how are the winds now? I'm planning to drive to the lake and you are better than a weather channel!

Wind is still strong but at least it is drying the ground out. Pipes are full of mud and yes I can flush it later but it is still a nightmare to deal with.
