Hello all. I’m new to the form and helping to get some great advice. I’m looking to purchase an old home that was built in 1961. It is on pier and beam and the plumbing is cast-iron. Upon inspection there was multiple leaks, corrosion and interior ration of all the plumbing in the crawlspace. I’m in the negotiation process and have asked for all that plumbing to be replaced and not just patched up. They will either throw money at me by taking off the total purchase price of the home or fix the problem for me. The problem is, if they just want to take money off the purchase price I have no idea what is acceptable. Here’s a little info on the house… It’s 1700 ft.² and The plumbing is above ground in the crawlspace. What is just a general average or best to worst case scenario add the cost of such a job I have pictures taken by the inspector but I can’t figure out how to upload them.
