They do work but it does become a little spendy over time having to replace those citrus filters now I have been told by some pretty intelligent water experts that this is a horrible idea to put in a copper system because the citrus or left over will actually strip the inside of the copper of this (slime) that protects the copper and will start to cause pinhole leaks he and the board of directors on the water counsel where I live all agree and say that there will more than likely be a class act lawsuit against it but at this point its hard to say it's all here say.
