Anybody know what this fitting is? It is on the suction side of the pump for my jetted tub. Has a ball and seat on the top (what looks like a threaded cap in the photo). Some type of anti siphon? Check valve?

What’s wrong with it ? It may be part of an air intake but I really don’t know.

Sorry, I thought I had put the issue in there. It is leaking at the glued joint coming off the tub. It is definitely part of the water pump system, not air system. I basically want to know if I can replace it with a male by female elbow or if it needs that ball and seat for some purpose.
 
That may be where an air control would connect.

Jetted tubs sometimes have an air intake that that might be where it would connect if it had one. It mixes air with the water.

Other then that I can’t help you. All that piping is done at the factory.
