My septic system is only 17 years old. I went to get it pumped, and they said the water level is less than a foot, so they couldn't pump it. It must be cracked. They gave me a quote to do a tank seal, which involved pumping, water jetting to see where the leaks are, and then repairing with hydraulic cement. Of course it's way less than the cost of a new tank, but I'm wondering if anyone knows how likely it is that the sealing will give me much more life on the tank. I realize I'll know more when they can tell me how bad the leaks are.
