are you able to remove the screw from the handle????? have you tried giving the handle a few good taps from the back side or spaying it with clr or vineagar????

That did it....thank you. One question, I now see the stem....is there a special tool needed to remove and replace the washer? I’m totally lost

Once you have the handle off, remove the Bennett (bell shaped chrome cover). Then you will need a deep socket to remove the stem. You can buy a set of those deep sockets at home depot for around $10. Remove the stem ( be sure you have turned the water off first) and remove the small screw and old washer on the bottom, and install a new one.

This is the stem that was removed. Any idea where I can get a replacement? The sink is very old.
