cross reference toilet tank

I have a kohler model 4166-ba and would like to know if it is possible to use a different tank than the one that came with it to one that has different flush valve system? thanks

Call Kohler and ask if by changing to a standard flush valve assembly if it would work properly, I don't like that more than a few brands have gotten away from a simple flapper

My sister in law has one and I’ll probably end up trying a standard flushvalve and flapper in the tank.

I’ll report back what happens when I do it. I’ve considered trying it before but never did. I think it’ll work fine.
