Anode rod

This magnesium anode rod in my water heater for 4 years 3 months. Is this still good or needs replacement?

I already put it back inside the water heater and it is running. I took a video before.

Do anode rods dissolve in this manner where the dissolve in different spots like the op's ?
I assumed the whole rod would dissolve evenly. Maybe that's where the electrodes are, or because of how the water moves inside the tank. This one is a mystery to me.
