No soil stack through the roof?!

well, judging by your second picture... you mention a tub, which is most cases is trapped below the floor... and i don't see a p-trap anywhere, maybe its out of the frame... and the sanitary tees on their back and the use of what looks like pressure pvc fittings... a bit of a no-no... if, as you...

Tankless Hot Water Heater, Noritz N0751M Will Not Heat Water

my first suggestion would be to rip it off the wall, throw it out back and give it a few blasts with a shotgun... second, as havasu mentioned, call tech support. i've had to diagnose a couple noritz units, their tech support was very helpful... and again as havasu said its very odd its...

Encased water lines in basement - bad idea?

first thing i want to know is if you know you should be disconnecting your outside spigot during the winter. that may freeze, and you won't find out until you start using it. how old is your house? reason why i ask is if you know of any past issues with pipes freezing. your idea of...

    Quick-Connect adapters

why? is there a particular reason you want to do this? it sounds completely unnecessary to be doing this... to answer your questions, i don't know of any code that would prohibit this... if an inspector were to see it, he may ask for a vacuum breaker of sort... but i doubt an inspect would...

    Faucet removal/replacement help

the video would have been better with music... anyway, behind those two 3/8's copper supply tubes, you should find a nut... it'll be roughly be a 3/8's socket size and be about an inch tall... it threads onto a rod that protrudes through that horseshoe shaped washer...

Is there a max slope for shower drain?

thanks Cad and Phish for your responses... Caduceues, you made a very important comment about 'fudging' joints, which skipped my mind but shouldn't go unnoticed. Mark, i think you may have over looked the point of my diagram... the answer to your question "Is there a max slope for shower...

Is there a max slope for shower drain?

not neccesarily true. i don't know how your current venting configuration is, but i hope this diagram can explain. the top trap is what im guessing what you're asking. that is considered an s-trap, and that is what you should avoid. basically the weir of the trap is higher than your...

    Pressure relief line question

it is a bit over kill (and unnecessary) for your relief valve to have its own drain... i suggest putting a temporary cap over the 1 1/2 waste line and just dropping the relief valve pipe strait into your water heater pan... in any case the relief valve begin to leak or malfunction you'll be able...

Dunno where else to post this...

it's probably the most interesting piece i've had to remove... yes, its completely real... as i said before, an older couple had a remodel done upstairs for a master bath and hall bath. i don't have any clue who they used, but their concern was the lack of inspection/permit. since they were...
