    Toilet shut off valve

Come to find out it was a threaded pipe. When I twisted it off a piece broke inside the remaining pipe in the wall. I can’t replace the pipe I took off because of the broken piece. Any suggestions?

    Toilet shut off valve

I am trying to replace a toilet shut off valve. I used a 1/2 cutter to remove the pipe since it was soldered on. I purchased a brass craft 1/2” , 1/4 times n straight valve and it doesn’t fit....the nut will not go over the remaining pipe. The weird thing is that I am able to insert the piece...

You are correct the leak is coming from above, but I can’t get the broken piece off. Do I need to remove the sink?

    Metal P-Trap

I have a vintage American standard sink and I am trying to replace a leaking metal p-trap. I was able to disconnect the pipe to the sink, but I can’t remove the piece in the back...(see yellow arrows). Any help is greatly appreciated.

Shut off valve for outside spigot

Thank you....you mentioned that it was soldered, if that’s the case how do I remove? Is it possible that there is a washer inside that could be replaced?

I’m thinking I may need a plumber....ugggg. The thick arrow in the picture in the front is the nut I am trying to remove....the second arrow in the back not sure what that is.

Shut off valve for outside spigot

Yes the valve behind the toilet. I shut the water off to the house and removed the valve....and even though the water was off, water was still pouring out from where I removed the valve. I don’t know what’s going on with this house, but thank you again for your patience.

Shut off valve for outside spigot

Diehard I’ve done that....no luck. I’ve shut off every valve I could find. In my previous post I stated that I shook it as suggested and it connects to a toilet....I turned that valve and the hose still drips

Shut off valve for outside spigot

Thank you, but I’ve tried to remove the hose bib, but I can’t, it won’t budge.....I put a wrench on the pipe to hold it and another on the hose bib nut to turn it and it won’t move...I’m so frustrated with this

Shut off valve for outside spigot

Hi Diehard, I found something interesting this morning. I shook the pipe as suggested and it looks like the noise is coming from the wall behind the toilet. I shut the valve off for the toilet and the leak remained....any thoughts?

Shut off valve for outside spigot

I just need something temporary until I can get the plumber here. The drip is increasing my water bill. Not sure how this piece will stop it......one question, once installed, how will it stop the drip? Will water build up behind it? I ask these questions, because I have no idea what I'm...
