I have 30 years old American Standard Cadet II toilet with 10" rough-in and cracked tank cover. Tank model 4072. Dont want to replace the whole toilet as it is still clean and shiny. Can I find compatible cover / tank itself these days ? New Cadet tank looks different from the one I have, but can I still use it as a replacement ? Any idea if it fits old bowl?

Aren't their junk yards for toilets like there are junk yards for cars?
I saw a "junk" yard that, between the store front and the street, had a zillion old toilets sitting around. After the Northridge earthquake in 1994, I found a tank lid for $10 to replace the one that the earthquake knocked off the tank.

But that was 30 years ago! I don't know where you live but you should be able to find a similar place. Try asking around at some of your plumbing supply stores.
