I have a leaky shower valve. Even when the hot water is on full I can feel cold water dripping from the front of the valve. I assume it is worn out. I have taken the escutcheon off and cannot remove the valve. There is a shiny silver piece I believe needs to come off but not sure. I have experience with symmons but this zurn has me stumped. I'm just not sure if it is stuck or I am doing something wrong. I will post a picture, can someone tell me the next step to get the inner valve out? Forgive me if I have used incorrect terminology. Thank You!

Remove the calcium with some CLR, give it a shot of penetrating oil, and the face should unscrew, allowing access to the worn out cartridge.

WHen you say base, I assume you are talking about the Shiny covering?

that looks very much like a symmons like all have said unscrew the (dome)and you will see the brass body take the stem out and see if you symmons seat wrenches work
