Hello,

I recently had my Zoeller M98 1/2 HP pump fail (after 6 years; I installed originally after we finished the basement). Specifically, the switch failed. When replacing the switch, I found the switch compartment was filled with water and oil. Zoeller support rep suggested the likely cause was overheating causing the gaskets to fail and allow water and oil to seep into the switch compartment.

So I'm looking at replacing the pump. I could go with another Zoeller M98 or I see the Wayne CDU1000 1HP unit with a 5 yr warranty at a lower price (approx $60 by Amazon prices). Looking for any recommendations!

Thanks for your input!

we use zoller and liberty pumps have not heard of Wayne
they both work well I have a zoller lift pump for my basement
bath and laundry the last one was 15 yrs old before it gave out

We always installed Hydromatic pumps. Very good pumps. Don't forget you get what you pay for and this is nothing to skimp on.
