st pete,
Hello perhaps another thread of course but search does not provide any, so sorry in advance, but please am now crazy woman, yes. Have replaced spindle in temptrol shower mixer and still only warm waters.. Looking at information says next maybe replace H&C seats? but looking in see possibility special tools may mot work. This because there doesnt look to be a square slot in either seat as I look in with torch.
have seen breakdown skematic and understand most of what is going on, just how to approach the next logical step and whether the slot for special seat tool is visible or has it eroded (typically happen?) Or other steps possible to get hot water for bathing self. Thank you very much.. just did a new h2o heater but seemingly unrelated due to being similar temperature before, slow to get less hot over years.

Sounds like you have a old symmons temptrol valve. Symmons will send you the two tools needed two replace the seats and the seats. The seats has small notches/slots for the seat tools. The seats slots/notches should be intact if no one have attempt to remove them. The warm water issue is typical with old symmons temptrol valves.
