So I assume I have to use a couple of big pipe wenches ??It’s a gate valve, it’s suppose to unscrew at the hex on the bonnet that screws into the valve body.
Not the packing nut directly below the handle.
I suggest replacing the gate valve with a ball valve. Gate valves, the gates stick and strip leaving the gate in whatever position it’s in. On/off or anywhere in between.
Whatever fits best and gives you enough leverage. Back yourself up of you’ll break the copper.So I assume I have to use a couple of big pipe wenches ??
