Hi,

I would like to install a high flow water filter before the water goes into the water softener. However, our supply line is 1" copper tubing, while the water in/out are 3/4". Is there anything like compression fitting that I can use to reduce from 1" to 3/4" (without any soldering)? Is there any tools that I can use the cut the 1" tubing?

Is there any side effect from such reduction?

Thanks in advance!

Mike

If your 1" water service continue pass the water softner and it's now a trunk line do not reducer it . If you reduce the service, you could lose functional flow. You can buy a 1" high flow in-line filter. You will need tubing cutters to cut the copper. (some of those filters comes with push fit fittings)

What is it your trying to filter out that the softener won't catch already?
