This is below my pvc closet ring in my bathroom. It seems to be the cast iron piping, but it has a lip on it. Can someone tell me what it is called? Thanks

That is a 4" lead pipe for a toilet. There would be a brass closet flange placed over the pipe and the lead would then be folded over it to set the toilet on. The lip (as you call it) would have to be straightened out to slide the flange over it.

Thanks for your response. Is this how most all piping is below the closet flange? If so, do I just bend it upright with a pair of pliers to get the sub floor over it and the closet flange? how is this piece of lead pipe secured to the rest of the pipe below it?
