Hi all,

My husband and I are closing on a house and the inspectors could not figure out what this pipe is for. It was suggested that it may have led to an old cesspool and they did tell us that the well treatment system should be disconnected from it. I'm assuming we should just have it plugged, but would like to know what it may have been used for in the past. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

So the home was on a septic system at one time and now it has city sewer ?

No, it’s currently on septic which cleared inspection.

If that enters your septic tank then it should be piped elsewhere. The water shouldn’t enter your tank.

Pump it out as ground water.

Looks like the water softener is tied into that line. Where does your main sewer go out at.?

Looks like that bag of water neutralizer isn’t working lol. Do you know where the leak is from?
