A couple of days ago we had very heavy rains and the entire first floor of our condo (located above a parking garage) flooded. The water was coming from within the wall that separates the living room from the outside patio. After opening up the drywall we found a 2-3” diameter (at the time uncapped pipe) sticking up from the floor about 6 inches (see photo showing the pipe after it was subsequently capped). This is where the water came from.
The assumption is that the builder forgot to cap this pipe during construction.
Can anyone tell me what purpose this pipe serves? Would be much appreciated.
