thanks, phishfood.
my injured friend's gofundme page every little bit helps. Even if you can't or don't want to donate, it would be appreciated for anyone to share it with people who might be interested or willing to help.
So far, he hasn't had much luck, but he was happy with the amount he already got since he said it will cover the gas bill. He's been selling off prized possessions and working as many hours as his job will let him.
Today was another friend's birthday so i went over to visit him in the new place he's renting. I decided to inspect the plumbing under the kitchen sink (it has an s-trap) and then i looked in the bathroom... It was ugly. I should have tried to get a better picture, but i noted that the trap arm goes upward, then has a fernco fitting to cast iron and the cast iron pipe angles upward because of a piece of wood. I asked if the sink had trouble draining and my friend said it did. I said to inform the landlord that the pipes needed to slope
downward. I also explained to my friend's girlfriend why an s-trap was bad and what would have to be done to the plumbing to make it right.
I'm unsure whether or not the bathroom trap arm has a vent within 5 feet.
Here's the pic of my friend's bathroom lavatory drain. I suck at holding cameras steady and straight, but even if i had it at the right angle, the pipe still goes up.
