Well Filter Pipe Size

The pipe coming from our water well is 2”. I have a whole house water filter I would like to add to the system. However, it is for a 1” connection. The well pump is rated for 5 gpm and the filter is rated for 10 gpm. Will this work?

You really want to put the filter after the pressure tank, and there should be smaller pipe there. But regardless of the pipe size, you just need to bush down to 1" for the filter.
