Weird Shower Issue

Hi Everyone! What a great forum!!! We recently renovated a 1949 Brick Ranch and have begun renting it. When the people moved in, the weirdest thing happened... the shower/tub combo works fine, and suddenly about 2 minutes into a shower, all of the water stops. The gal also said that the pipes made a "scary ass" sound when this occurred. Wondering if this is a problem with the diverter valve (and can we just replace parts on it) or if it is something more sinister at work?

Seems that something may have gotten clogged in the valve or pipes. Is the tub/shower the only fixture affected?

It could be alot of reasons. Start with taking off the shower head and make sure it didn't get clooged up. Could be a loose washer in the valve.
If it has bee sitting unused for awhile, no telling with lookin' at it. Copper or Galvanized steel water lines?
