Hi all, I am a complete novice DIYer here. I was replacing my current (Grohe) showerhead with a new (Delta) one, and I came across a speedbump. It appears that the Grohe uses a weird fitting that I have not come across before. Please see the pictures. The Delta on the other hand uses a regular screw on type fitting.

I don't have access to the person who originally installed the Grohe showerhead, but how do I change this fitting. I got the showerhead off, but the mount/flange/pipe it sits on is not the screw on type, but something that required an Allen key. I am assuming that if I remove this mount, underneath it there would be a normal screw-on type fitting, but I could be wrong. I have tried with pliers but I can't get the mount to budge.

Help!
