I have just completed the loop from the furthest bathroom with PEX Tubing and insulated all piping. I am ready to connect the Watts Recirculating Pump to the BOTTOM of my water heater. In the manual, it states Do not mount horizontally. For my application, I would like to mount this pump with the motor pointing up and the pump side pointing down in the horizontal position at the bottom of the hot water heater - in other words, the inlet and outlet of the pump are in horizontal position. This line is a separate free flow hot water line without valves and no resistance. Will the mounting in this position create a problem for this particular Watts pump?

In my experience, as long as the pump shaft is mounted horizontally you're good. The installation instructions should show proper and improper orientation examples.
