Been thinking about getting a utility sink for my garage but I am on septic and I am sure there will be chemicals and who knows what that go down the drain, is this an issue for a septic system?

yes, septic has live critters in it that you want to keep happy so they will do their job. best suggestion i have for a shop sink would be a dry well

get a 55 gallon plastic barrel. dig a hole no closer than 10' from your foundation. 4'x5'x4' fill the bottom bout 24'' with 3/4 lime stone if you can get it, or just rock.
drill holes all over the barrell, set it out in the field and shoot it with your 22. lol!!
wrap the barrel with fabric, put in hole and fill hole with rock. stop 6'' from top. grass/ dirt

lime stone is used a a neutralizer for acids and such

you also need to switch from that super comfy toilet paper to something like scott toilet paper
that is septic safe

put a p-trap on the sink so bugs will not use it as a highway

1 time every couple months, flush a packet of yeast down the toilet, keep your bugs happy
