Hi All,

My contractor installed a standard 14-16" trip lever (Gerber brand) stopper for my new tub which requires a 17" system. Of course, he neglected to tell me until the job was done and now the tub won't hold water. Can I remove the lever plate and drain cover and swap it with a toe tap system? Would it be possible to add another link to the current chain? If so, where can I find it as I searched high and low for something that'll work with no luck. Ripping out the tub and redoing it is not an option. Would also prefer a permanent solution rather done using one of those drain stopper pads. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help.

what you need, is the trip lever assembly for a roman bath garden tub

take the assembly out of the tub...unscrew #15
grab #8 and pull up and out.

take assembly to a plumbing supply house. NOT ho-depo,or Blowes

tell the counter sales guy you need, part 11 and 12

for a garden tub.

it may be just #11. its a little longer

swap out parts.

to adjust the linkage,

hold the face plate #8 up to where it goes, with the up/down lever in the up position
#13 should be touching the bottom of tub
adjust by turning #12 up or down
stick assembly in hole, you may have to jiggle it up and down...replace screws
