In Florida is there a law or regulation that requires a specific type of pipe to be used for the tub spout to connect to ? Main question is can CPVC be used instead of galvanized or some other metal pipe ?

Most faucet manufactures say not to use CPVC or PEX pipe on tub spouts. The reason being is the ID on CPVC and PEX is smaller and can cause some water to come out of the shower head when filling the tub.

I don't recall any specific code requirement for tubspout material other than that it meet the specifications for water distribution piping.

But I will say that the only type of piping that should be used for that is a rigid metallic pipe, copper (really good), brass (really good), or galvanized(acceptable). I would strongly recommend that you do not use any type of plastic piping for a tubspout stubout.
