Hello,

We're remodeling our bathroom and need to replace an old drum trap. There are obstructions that are making it a little more difficult than expected. Would plumbing the trap like the picture be acceptable?

We live in Ohio, USA if that helps.

Thank you in advance,
Steve

Do not even consider plumbing it like the picture. You have a lot more digging to do.

Thank you for your help. After a little work, we have a proper drain and it doesn't even leak.

Nice, but never screw metal and plastic pipes together. Always use a mission band type coupling. The materials expand and contract differently and can result in failure down the road. Looks good though.
