I am replacing my waterline fromthe steet to the house with 1" high density polyethelene. My question is when I enter the building how do I transition from 1" poly to 3/4" pex that I am using for main trunk line .What type of fittings do I need because I heard that on the poly side that I have to use s/s band clamps to fasten to whatever fitting that is required to change over.
Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

I would put a male x poly into the poly. Then a 1" IPS ball valve with a 1x3/4" brass bushing into the other end of the ball valve. With a 3/4" PEX male into the bushing. That gives you a main valve for the house and changes over from one pipe to the other.
