1 of the 2 toilets in our, new to us, house has the small hose from the fill valve clipped, outside the overflow tube. This way, all the water from the fill valve goes in the tank. The bowl fills to the same level, with it in or out of the overflow tube.
Is there any reason I should put it in the overflow tube, other than, that's where it belongs? I like the idea of putting less water in the septic.
Toilet flushes fine the way it is.
I just retested it, and the bowl level is the same, with the hose in or out of the overflow tube.
I also measured the amount of water, from the hose, that just goes down the drain. 1/2 gallon!
