I am trying to remodel my half bath to a full. Currently the toilet is about a foot off the main stack. I want to move it to about 4-5 feet away from the main stack. What is the maximum distance it can be away from the main stack before it needs it's own vent?

every fixture SHALL have its own vent,

not sure, but terminology has a lot to do with what you are asking.

you say "stack" are you talking about a vent stack ? waste stack ?

this is why I ask for a picture of the issue. . as it stands, i do not have enough information to answer your question

is their a bath above this on anyther floor?

what size is the piping ?

i can pop off with a generic answer..10' but is that correct for your situation ?

Sorry I wasn't more specific.

It's a 3" drain pipe off toilet that runs to the main vent/waste stack which is 3". It's the top floor of a cape cod, it's all copper, house was built in 50's.

Thanks
