Probably not the best title but didn’t know how better to phrase it.

Installing exposed freestanding tub filler from Kingston Brass with a 90-degree bend (goes over edge of tub). The bend obviously needs to be in a specific position, but when it is, the joint feeding it leaks. There’s not enough thread for another whole turn. I’ve tried Rectorseal +2 with and without Teflon tape, and the leak is tiny, but it’s there. Any suggestions?

Show a picture if you can

Get Kingston brass to send another fitting if they supplied it or buy another fitting if they didn’t supply it.

Your picture shows three joints above the valve. When you install such a system, you should not tighten each fitting as you go, but use Teflon pipe dope on each joint, hand tighten each joint, and then use the top piece to tighten all the joints at the same time. With three joints in play, you should have no problem in lining up the top fitting and getting all three tight and not leaking.
