I have figured out i need to install a thermal expansion tank to stop my T&P valve from blowing after i shower everyday. I have a 50 gallon tank and my pressure is usually around 80psi. Through research i have figured i need a 2 gallon expansion tank? But i can only find a 5 gallon in town so is it bad too have a bigger one than i need? Also curious about how far you should put it up the cold water line? I was going to mount it up in my basement rafters to be able to support it but didn't want it to be to far away to work properly. Any answers or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
