Another random question but if i wash my hands in the upstairs bathroom it makes the shower trickle is there a reason behind this?

Lot of things.
Low water pressure and low water volume.
If pipe size is to small or a restriction like a partially closed valve, or scale build up in the line that reduces the inside diameter of the pipe will effect the volume.
Low pressure can have an effect as well but it would have to be pretty low to cause the shower to just trickle if a only a sink faucet was opened.

I have seen that happen in old homes with galvinised piping that were about closed off due to scale
