Hi
I am fitting a new basin and the tap distance is too much for the existing connections. I have not seen this sort of connector before, can anyone suggest how I disconnect the existing pipe? Alternatively is there a very short extension I can put into this somehow? The other end of this plastic pipe is a threaded connector for the tap tails but it’s a few inches short
Thanks in advance and thank you for admitting an amateur DIYER in.

Regards
Ted

Yep, UK, Oxfordshire. Pipe went in more than 10 years ago and just want to get that plastic pipe out and put a longer one in but don't want to risk that connection as there is nothing to stop the water if it breaks.
