I know flushing a tankless heater is a yearly process, my question is. We have a cottage that the tank is in a crawl space which every year is more of an issue for me to get into. We also are using a softner as we are on well water. So the limited use and softner should reduce the flushing to bi-annual flushing correct I hope.
 
I have a guy down the street who didn't flush either of his tankless units for 12 years. We do not have hard water at all. It is all a matter of your specific water chemistry/minerals.
 
Just make sure that it actually gets done on some kind of schedule. Whenever I have a task that doesn't have to happen _every_ year, I find I put it off _this_ year because I'm busy or lazy or something, and then that repeats _every_ year until a decade has gone by...
