I tried soldering 1/2 inch copper scraps today. I didnt have any flux but thought I would still get some results. I cleaned everything well and used a Benzomatic flame which is a little more pointed than I would like. I used Lenox WS15039 lead free solder that I had been using on circuits previously. But the info online about this solder shows copper pipe being soldered so it must be made for that. The results were a joke. the fitting came off in my hand. no penetration.
Is no flux the reason for that?
