Solder over old joint??

I’m replacing me existing shower faucet with a new one. It’s a ½” copper pipe, I removed the 90 degree elbow and want to replace it with a coupler in the exact same place. I need to solder it where the old elbow was due to lack of access and there’s still a thin film of solder left on the pipe. Can I solder on a new coupler fitting after removing the old as long as the old solder joint is clean and smooth?
