Hello,

Installing a new bathroom sink faucet/drain, and can't get this drain in with supplied rubber washers with out a leak where the bottom rubber washer meets the sink underneath for the life of me. Should I discard the top rubber washer and use plumbers putty, or silicone?

Any advice is appreciated!

yeah, use some silicone on both the top flange and also on the bottom rubber gasket ( Mack washer). Discard that top rubber……

Let it dry for 24hrs.

I’ve never had one of those sink drain pop up replacements leak. Simple hand tightening always did it, but I can see perhaps some different sinks with different profiles causing problems.

Won’t that goop destroy the plastic? I’ve used it for shoe repair.
Nope
