All summer the spout has been dripping; I had enough and bought a new spout (with diverter as it's need for ours). The water handle is an all in one, meaning, you turn it all the way right to shut off and then left counter-clockwise to go from cold to hot. Shower and all components are 14 years old.
When I took the spout off, I have about 3" of unthreaded 1/2" copper pipe exposed. I bought nearly the exact same model at Lowes (Danco). While the spout had been off for most of the day, NO dripping at all so I figured that the cartridge in the handle was fine.
I installed the new spout (did not install the silicon as I didn't have any) and it works fine; however, it's dripping again... I don't understand what it could be.
