Shower mixer cartridge cost explained?

Hi,

Can anybody explain why are some shower mixer cartridges more expensive than the others? Is it just the quality of the components or is it because they work differently internally?

Some are plastic....some are brass...some have rubber washers...some have have ceramic washers....some are bigger in size resulting in more materials used and longer to manufacture.

There is honestly thousands of variables to answer this question

So basically what you are saying the cost is down to the component materials and size. But the way they work internally is practically the same?

No he didn't say that. There are to many variables. why does a BMW cost more than a Ford Escape.
Internal design maybe similar on some but have no similarities to others.
made in China are going to way cheaper than those made in Germany
