Shower handle: longer housing?

The housing/escutcheon pièce (cylinder) that covers the mixer and handle attaches to is too short. It's 2" but I need a bit longer because it's not sitting flush. Do they make longer than 2"? Checking replacement parts store

The valve body was installed too far back in the wall.

Yeah that's probably too but I'm trying to fix it without busting open the wall because I'm out of tile. Ugh.
