I'm a new member and need some help. There was a sewer gas smell in the bathroom. A new wax ring, new flange were installed and toilet was caulked. This is a small bath with one sink and tub and all traps are clear. All other drains in the house are fine. After installing the wax ring and the bathroom still smelled, a wax less ring (Sani-Seal) was installed. All openings in the flange and around the flange were sealed. We are caulking around the floor now and have re-caulked the toilet. There is still an odor. In the morning after the toilet has not been flushed for many hours, there is no odor that I can detect. After the toilet is flushed, the smell comes back after 2 hours. There must be a small leak somewhere! Is there some way to discover how and where the smell is coming from? Maybe similar to how the gas company detects gas leaks?
