Renovators in my apartment building recently broke a pipe somewhere and had to shut off the building water to fix it. After replacement, the hot water was initially yellow with visible sediment. This cleared, but it's a couple days later, and trace sediment still comes out with the hot water (it slowly gathers in a trail of grit at the bottom of the tub if running for a while). Is this normal? Does it take a while to clear sediment?
The building is not highly occupied yet, so I'm one of only a few using the hot water if that helps put into perspective how long this should take.
Thanks for any insight.
