why would I be getting this error code?

not much info on this new unit and ever number is closed for the weekend.

That shows you put extra work in, to help me.

so thanks very much, I appreciate it.

unfortunately I have watched every video and read over hour and hours of post.

those are older models, This newer model is completely a different design.

does not seem to be any j formation at all on these newer units.

Sorry I couldn't help you. Maybe check back when some of our professionals have had their coffee. If you do find the solution, please let us know, as it may help others out there.

Ambient temperature sensor failure.

The unit should still work by using heating elements.

The instruction manual says to ohm test the sensor.

So you’ll need an electrical test meter that reads ohms.

Yes but the issue that I’m coming across as I cannot find the sensor or where it’s located there’s no diagrams or pictures on the Internet or in the instructions

I suppose it has a brain board and it might be labeled.

If not then you’ll need to wait until tech support opens up to instruct you.

You should still be making hot water with the elements, but not the heat pump.

no labeling that I have found.

calling tech support is on the list of things to do, but I think they don’t open till Monday.

mess hoping I can get this fixed before then.

Do you have a suggestion on what customer service number to call.

I have found like 10different numbers.

Wifi number,
Sales Number,
Complaint Number.

I’m not convinced I have the proper number and hate it when I’m in hold for 2 hrs to find out I was on the wrong line.

Make sure all the internal electrical connectors are tight. If you can find any.

You’re looking for an air temp sensor.

I fixed it.
Thanks for the responses.

I ended up looking around some more and was able to see inside the top vent down. Saw2 connectors next to each other, not connected.

I was able to fish wire and screw drivers through the vent and after about 1 hour for them connected.

All works great.

So thanks Rheem for sending this unit out the door without the quality control of making sure all connections are on.

Wow. I guess QC took a vacation when your unit was built? Thanks for letting us know how you fixed it!
